Main Street, Hyannis Port

Sweet street scene.

Hyannis Port, MA

Shopping on Main Street Hyannis Port. Lots of tee shirt shops etc. like any beach town.

Froze at the beach!

Too cold. Moving on.

Craigsville Beach

This beach was deserted. Cool day, overcast, windy. Plenty of public parking here. Middle of the Cape on the bay side. Pretty and sparse. Very natural.

Craigsville Beach, Cape Cod

Beach front site. Our portable beach villa.

Cape Cod National Sea Shore

June 30, 2013. After stopping in the visitor center, we walked this protected sea shore, part of the U.S. Park Service. Did earn another Junior Ranger badge here.

Boston KOA

Early morning play time!

Boston/ Cape Cod KOA

June 30, 2013
Pulled into the Boston/ Cape Cod KOA late last nite. There is definitely a range
in aesthetics and amenities as far as Koa's go and this one does not top the list. Here its quantity of sites over quality.

I'm a snobby camper and much prefer a concrete "landing pad" to a grass or dust one like this. But... location, location, location....heart of Boston and even the Cape.

Independence Hall

First Continental Congress.

Phila.

More Philly tour. We walked all day! When it started raining that afternoon, we stayed on to eat and shop. No rainy camper nites.

First Supreme Court here

Independence Hall, Phila.
Building where the original supreme court met over 200 years ago. Next door the Declaration of Independence was signed. Philadelphia county seat.

B.B. Elizabeth (Betsy) Ross

Meeting Betsy Ross

The Betsy Ross house.
Her house open to tours. A tiny 3 story w very narrow stairs. Widowed 3 times. Lived to be 84 years old. A hardworking Patriot with 16 siblings.

Sonny's Famous Cheesesteaks

228 Market Street, Phila, PA 19106

The Liberty Bell

Pennsylvania, PA
Cracked about 1780s when rung in celebration of President George Washington's birthday. (The bell had a previous minor flaw.) Silenced ever since.

Declaration of Independence

Independence National Historical Park
An original draft (unsigned) of the Declaration of Independence. There were 56 signers and 3 of those were from Georgia. Gwinnett, Walton, and Hall. They risked death for treason and financial ruin to their families if unsuccessful in their campaign against King George. John Hancock shows no uncertainty.

Independence National Hist. Park

We got a tip to preorder our tickets to this "Independence Park" and that was a good thing. This site gets crowded. It is a large complex of many historical buildings and info centers including the home of the first Supreme Court, a building where the first Continental Congress assembled, construction of Declaration of Independence, Liberty Bell, Ben Franklin's grave, and Betsy Ross's house. Living history. It's all here in 2 city blocks.

Downtown Philly

Starbucks morning in Penn.

Starting the day right!!

Pennsylvania Independence Hall Tour

Friday, June 28
A rainy evening shut us down yesterday for the pool, and dictated that we watch a movie and order pizza delivery to the camper. This morning, up early to catch the 8:14 am train (Septa) into Penn. We love trains, taxis, buses, walking over trying to park this RV in a city. About 30 min. ride to downtown.
